our approach

In today's world disease and illness dictate life.  It is about the symptoms and the treatment BUT what about supporting the body, trusting that it knows what to do?  What about eating well, exercising and sleeping 8-10 hours to avoid our body from breaking down?  What about keeping a positive mindset and avoiding excessive stress to obtain optimal health?

Our goal is to bring to you a way of “treatment” that is like none other.  We focus on what your body needs to operate: communication and fuel.  Starting with chiropractic adjustments which focus on the communication force in your body- the nervous system.  This system needs to be running at its best to get CLEAR signals from the brain to the rest of the body.  A simple adjustment can stimulate sluggish nerves at the same time calming overactive nerves.  Once the power of communication through the nervous system is at ideal the body can then operate more effectively and efficiently.

We believe if we focus on how health is created and maintained we have a greater opportunity to reach health.  We emphasize having an inherent trust in our bodies ability to function IF we give it the tools and support it needs to function.  Chiropractic supports the nervous system but since we are caring for the whole body there are other aspects that may come up in your care.  Nutrition, mental wellbeing, exercises, sleep, and your environment may be topics of discussion at some point in care.

We do hold a special place in our hearts for women, mothers, and children.  Our mission is to help guide women and mothers in their journey of self-discovery and self-awareness.  As women, our bodies hold an amazing power to grow and birth a human.  We want to walk that hormone journey with you, supporting and empowering you to trust in yourself and your body.   This is sometimes a very lonely journey BUT it doesn’t have to be.

If our goals and views feel right to you, we look forward to walking with you on your journey.  If it doesn’t, that is okay.  We all are on our own journeys- follow the road that feels good to you!

I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in October 2011.  My goal and dream was to have an office of my own which lead me to Coopersville where a short four months after graduation I opened Ireland Chiropractic Clinic.  As life goes I had no idea what big changes Coopersville had for my life.

My husband and I got married in October of 2014 and we had twins in December 2016, Dirk and Madelyn.  It was these two that have changed my focus in the office tremendously in the past two years.  My passion has always been to take care of families and kids.  As I took care of expecting mother I would try to relate and talk to them about their experiences but until I experienced it myself I had no idea the realm of emotions and challenges a mother experiences.

Motherhood was one of the more self-defining transitions of my life.  I was unaware of how lonely and frustrating this period of life can be.  Since birth I face challenges on a daily basis with how to parent, what to feed them, mom guilt, taking care of me, nurturing the husband/wife relationship, and on and on.  If you are a mom you know exactly what I am talking about.  It is hard!!  And that is okay.  But not many will own the fact that it is hard, that they struggle.  I think that fact strikes me as the most disturbing.  Why doesn’t society own the struggles of motherhood?  Why don’t we work together to help, support, lend a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen?  This transition in life really stemmed my drive to guide and empower women and mothers on this journey of self-discovery.  Frankly, there are not enough safe places a woman can go to let her feelings out and not be judged.  It is okay to cry, it is okay to be angry, it is okay to feel like you can’t do it anymore.  And sometimes that is all we need to hear- “it's okay to feel the way you are”.

We are all on our own journeys in life.  I am here to help you on your journey.  To empower women to take the driver's seat in their own health.  So often I see a woman in the office after a crisis with either her or her child and as we talk it starts the “I wish I would have known”.  I am here to empower you to know - to know how your body works, what it needs to thrive, how our preconception health affects our babies' health, what your options are in pregnancy, birth and postpartum so that YOU can make the BEST decision for YOU. That is what matters. That you have the knowledge because when you know better you can do better.
